who we are

In 1972, I bought my first professional SLR camera, a Nikkormat FTn and three Nikkor lenses. What started as an interest in art and artistic photography soon became my passion for taking pictures. A few years later I worked for several years with novice and experienced photographers through a national network of photography businesses serviced by Candid Color Systems in Oklahoma City. In 1984, I started my own freelance photography business while providing campaign coverage for Henry Bellmon as he won his second term as Oklahoma Governor. For the following fourteen years I photographed people, products and businesses all over Oklahoma and some surrounding states. Through photography I met and photographed thousands of interesting people, including three U.S. Presidents, a few congressmen, two governors and several movie and recording celebrities. I moved to the Dallas area in 1997, where only a few years later I met a beautiful woman whose name is Gayla. I am blessed today to have her as my wife and partner.

Gayla and I met through two photography and darkroom classes that I have taught for many years for Collin County Community College. She is a very good photographer and notices a lot of details in photos we create together that I often miss. Gayla is a magnet for children and families that we meet wherever we go. Sometimes she assists me with photography classes I teach in the Dallas area. Her tender heart and beautiful smile attract many people to our business, and I absolutely could not do this successfully without her.

We enjoy spending time with our kids, our other family members and close friends. We have also made a lot of new friends in North Texas that are here from many other countries, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Honduras, El Salvador, Chile, Venezuela, Korea, China, Vietnam, India, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Zimbabwe. We are inspired to continue learning about other cultures and sincerely appreciate how hard these people new to the United States are working to make a life for their families here. It's fun for us to work with all kinds of people and hopefully make their lives more memorable through our photography. We attend Willow Bend Church in Plano, Texas.
